From the album, life in an instant

I do most of my shooting in New York, NY
I grew up in Paris where my father worked at the International Herald Tribune; my mother is an artist. Much of the reason I moved to NYC for school is that I had started modeling and going to school here at least legitimized it a bit for my overbearing parents. I think up until a year or so ago, I had tried/worked/done everything *but* photography. I've been in some films. I've written quite a few published works and have been published many times.
In retrospect, cameras, and the notion of photography; or switching places with what was familiar, was a thought so terrifying it never crossed my mind. Now, its *all* that crosses my mind. I still model. I still write. But I am passionate, and devoted to photography, and, due to the "incubation " affect of Instagram, have developed so much.
I owned an Iphone, and have forever, but started getting into the photo thing in my free time initially during shoots, which is much of the time when someone is tending to a strand of hair or the cuff of ones pants uttering, "work." I liked playing with the apps. I liked rendering them madly. and over time, and mostly through the presence of others i started to understand how important it was for me to communicate a certain message -- or language -- to those who took the time to look at my photos. isolationwithin (the population) is a reference to the solitude and masks of the residents of New York City and that paradox. Not that it's a bad thing. but I find it interesting, and I like to convey the very intimate parts of myself; though never quite clearly, and very public things (Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, etc) that are iconic and often photographed; but seem very solitary to me.
